Whole Wheat Dates and Walnut Cake

As a mother, I am constantly on the hunt for healthy and tasty recipes for my daughter. I happened to find this recipe online and gave it a try and to my surprise the cake turned out so well. So, here's the recipe for you all as well.
Ingredients 1cup wheat flour 1/4tsp baking soda 1/2tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp powdered cinnamon 1cup deseeded and chopped dates 1/2cup chopped walnuts 3/4cup sugar powdered 1/4cup caramelised sugar 1/2 cup thick curd 1/2cup butter 1/2tsp vanilla essence Pinch of salt
Method Sieve together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon powder and a pinch of salt and keep aside. Caramelize the sugar n add little water and keep aside( Adding water after preparing the caramelized sugar helps it to not get thick) In another container beat the curd till it becomes very smooth then add butter and beat well, now add the powdered sugar and beat well and then add vanilla essence to this and beat again. The other day I went for grocery shopping with my daughter and from there we got different shapes cookie cutters and more than me K was super excited to use them. So, to make the cookie cutters to good use I thought of trying whole wheat cookies. So, here's the recipe for you all as well. Ingredients Whole wheat Flour(Aata)- 1 cup Sooji(Rava) and Besan- 1/4 cup each Powdered sugar- 1/2 cup Ghee 1/2 cup Milk - 3-4 tbsp Baking soda-  1/2 tsp
Method Preheat the oven at 180 degreesSift whole wheat flour, gram flour( besan), sooji and baking soda together.Add sugar, milk and ghee to the above mix to make a fine dough.Make small balls by rolling between palms and flatten them gently.Cut them using cookie cutter and arrange them in a greased tray with some distanceBake for approx 12-15 minutesNote Your dough should be soft and binding, if you find that your balls are not shaping properly and spreading out then you can add some more milk to bind…

Rain Themed Activities

Rain Themed Activities 
Rainy Season is going on which means our kids need to be indoors for long. To make the time at home interesting we did some fun and easy activities on Rain theme.
Activity 1 - Making clouds with cotton
Draw clouds on a blue chart paper and let your child paste cotton on it to make it look as clouds.




Activity 2 - Rain cloud craft
Again ask your child to paste cotton on an empty paper.Then with the help of a dropper your child will make the clouds rain.




Activity 3 - Simple cloud experiment
A very simple experiment to teach the concept of clouds and rains. You will need an empty glass jar, shaving foam and blue water with dropper.




Activity 4 - Identifying things we see on a rainy day
Ask your child to circle all the things associated with Rain.

Activity 5 - Counting activity by making rain drops
Making rain drops corresponding to the number mentioned on the cloud.


Activity 6 - Number matching
Circling the correct number associated with each picture
